Whisky and Bourbon

Below are some of the Whiskys and Bourbons that I have tried over the years and I highly recommend for you, if you like to imbibe.  As my collection grows I will add those that rise to the level of awesome and deserve your attention.  I will also provide more detailed descriptions and tasting notes.

Scotch Whisky

Scotch is the quintessential drink that must be a part of any collection.  If you only ever buy one bottle for your home bar, The Macallan is the perfect choice that will surely impress your guests. I only drink Scotch neat (no ice or water), it is a personal preference, as I prefer to taste the full range of flavors that are present at room temperature.

Glenmorangie                             The Macallan           Glengoyne

Balvenie DoubleWood                 Laphroaig               The Glenrothes

Johnny Walker Blue                   Lagavulin

Irish Whiskey

Irish Whiskey, much like Scotch, is often regarded for its spice and smokey undertones.  You could really go with any of the Jameson Whiskeys and you would still have an amazingly smooth sipping whiskey.

American Whiskey and Bourbon
When it comes to American Whiskeys and Bourbons I just started getting into some of the smaller distilleries.  While Jack Daniels and Jim Beam have their place, I have never really been a fan of either.  There is a rapidly growing Artisinal Whisky and Bourbon segment that I am researching, Ballast Point in San Diego being one.  As I find these Small Batch jewels, I will share the experience.

Japanese Whiskey

This was my first dive into Japanese Whiskey, and I will say it won't be my last.  This was an extremely smooth whiskey that had a sweet finish.
